Nancy Aberle, Anna Fäh Meier and Mark Keogh, known for their work with children with special needs, will conduct a five-day advanced training for Feldenkrais® and Anat Baniel Method®NeuroMovement practitioners.

In order for each practitioner to expand their skills, special focus will be placed on better understanding the human nervous system and how each individual has specific ways of learning with more ease. Using the Feldenkrais techniques as well as the theoretical concepts developed by Anat Baniel, practitioners can give lessons in which the child learns to better coordinate their movements and become more profoundly connected to themselves. Such lessons can change the lives of the children and their families for the better. The aim of our work is to enable each child to mature and lead a life with as much independence as possible.

During the two practicum days, the participants can give free lessons to babies and children. Nancy, Mark and Anna will be in the room and will offer support when questions arise or help is needed. After the children's lessons, each practitioner will have the opportunity to briefly reflect on his/her experience in the group, with the intention to improve one's own thinking, moving and well-being while giving Function Integration lessons.

Experienced practitioners, practitioners with little experience and also those who do not want to give lessons to children during this training, are welcome.

(More information about the practicum will follow after registration. It may be possible for practitioners to bring a family with whom she or he is already working.)

During the seminar there will be a two-hour workshop for parents and care-givers. Adults can improve the learning conditions for children at home, when they develop a deeper understanding of the human nervous system and their child's way of learning through self-awareness. For the practitioners, the parent's workshop is an example of how to involve parents while working with their children. Practitioners can gain valuable tools to work with parents and learn to explain in clear language how the method works.

Our goal as a team of senior practitioners (and instructors of this seminar), is to empower and encourage other practitioners to start working with children and to refine the skills of experienced practitioners, so that the children can have even greater outcomes.

From the book by Anat Baniel, we focus on 4 of the 9 Essentials of ABMNM®: "Slow", "Variations", "Movement with Attention" and "The Learning Switch".
