"Insight Into Vision" – for Feldenkrais® and ABM NeuroMovement® Practitioners

A deeper understanding of “Quality of Touch”, “Habits of Attention”, and “Distribution of Effort”

Nancy Aberle and Lynn Bullock have been working in teams of practitioners and supervising practitioners for many years. They are particularly appreciated for their warmth and capacity to transform complex concepts into simple explanations and practical applications.

Lynn and Nancy will encourage practitioners to develop a deeper understanding of how our movements and the way we perceive visual space are intimately connected.

Are you interested in the relationship between our movements, eye movements and vision?
Would you like to learn to play with this relationship and be able to use it directly and indirectly in your work? If so, then this experiential 3-day seminar will be valuable for you.

Lynn Bullock created an approach to deal with vision challenges called “Insight into Vision”.

Lynn and Nancy will share “highlights” from their years of research on how to use touch in FI to address indirectly the coordination of the eyes in movement. This can improve vision and perception in general.

These techniques can be specifically adapted for working with children with special needs and adults who find "eye" lessons particularly difficult.

Practical applications of "Insight Into Vision", can improve the quality of our lessons while working with children and adults.

During these 3 days the curriculum will include:

- Open attention, ways to perceive movement, with more ease, comfort and quality of attention.
- The functions of convergence and accommodation of the eyes, which are two main functions that we can approach in FI and ATM, in a very conscious way.
- ATM lessons explicitly and implicitly oriented towards these two main functions, as well as the relationship of eye movements to vision.
- The reasons for doing certain things in ATM - notably the use of language and how to use concepts from “Insight into Vision” in your lessons.
- ATM lessons to improve sense of touch.
- Lynn’s specific research on how to use touch in FI to indirectly address eye coordination in movement. This can improve vision and general perception of yourself and the environment. You can learn to transfer this to your students young and old.
- Nancy’s professional experience with the strong relationship between distribution of effort, habits of attention, visual perception and use of the eyes.
- An action plan to make taking home your learning, both concrete and doable.

All this in a warm, respectful, fun environment
